
Dr. Kenneth Cusi, a professor in the Division of Endocrinology, developed a passion for studying the effects of Type 2 diabetes after recognizing its increasing global impact. Throughout his career, he has played a key role in uncovering how both diabetes and obesity contribute to severe liver damage. His research has been instrumental in shaping new screening and testing guidelines aimed at early detection and improving patient outcomes. In recognition of his groundbreaking work, Dr. Cusi was honored with the 2025 College of Medicine Outstanding Research Scientist Award in Clinical, Data, or Artificial Intelligence Sciences.
